Kim Yuna and Brian Orser

On Aug. 2, 2010 Kim Yuna's long time coach, Brian Orser who had helped her win the gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics, was told by Kim Yuna's mother turned manager fired him without information as to why. Brian Orser made the dismissal extremely public, claiming he was "flabbergasted" and "upset."
Later Brian Orser disclosed Kim's program routine to the press, which is a huge and spiteful blow in the skating world. He also claimed it was her mother who decided to dismiss him, and not Yuna's.
However, Kim Yuna later wrote on her Cyworld:
"Do you think it's really true that my mother decided on her own to part ways with the coach? I'm no longer a child," wrote Kim, who turns 20 on Sept. 5. "He was my coach, and whether we stay on or part ways, it was my final decision, and this is what I decided to do, with discretion, after consulting with my mother."
She also wrote several tweets over her twitter. The tweet express her disappointment towards an unnamed person, possibly Brian Orser. The tweets were deleted almost immediately afterwards. Kim now trains with Peter Oppegard, brother in law to figure skating legend Michelle Kwan her longtime idol.

Kim Yuna is now preparing for an ice show with many top celebrities this August.
